Random Thingamajigs

So. Its almost been a month since my last post, and the snow, and the Xfire craziness. It is now a whole new month, and April Fools has come and gone, with no mad “I saw Jesus in my toast” or “Michael Jackson appeared in my fogged up window” blog posts for the day of fools.

On the non-hallucinatory side of life, I went to the Trafford centre with the college. Not exactly an educational day out, but nonetheless, i bought the Star Wars trilogy (the original movies), and the game, Rise of Nations. Not only this, but I also recieved a few random games in the last month, as well as The Life of Brian on DVD.

Tomorrow is my theory test for driving. Thats right. In the UK, as soon as you turn 17, you can drive anywhere (except motorways) as long as you have another qualified driver in the car. I must pass my theory test before taking my practical, of which Mr Payne, my friendly driving instructor, will submit me when I am good enough. I can get from A to B through all sorts of traffic obstacles without dying or causing death, so i must be doing good. I can’t wait to drive. I have been a slave to the bus companies for too long! When I pass my test, I can go my own way, suckers!

Edit: Passed

Snow again!

This time it is much deeper. It was followed by a short rain shower, which did no damage to the snow, but froze over the top of it, causing a hazardous scene for all around. I don’t think college will be cancelled tomorrow unless it snows more in the morning, in which case they become scared and don’t allow anyone in for insurance.

Most of the snow fell late last night, but it fell even more during the night and all morning, causing deepness of 1ft, with two feet where the wind had blown it against things, like my door. I was stuck inside for two hours!

Interestingly, the Welsh Highland Railway has made progress yesterday, with the replacement of the Bryn-y-Felin bridge, a copy of the original 1923 bridge that was never removed, so rusted badly and was removed in 95 by the Ffestiniog railway for insurance purposes! It didn’t snow there until today, so they were quite lucky to get it installed.

I have also been playing a lot of Act of War and Battlefield 2 recently, as well as working on the sprites for Lakie just look at my Xfire sig!

Its like Christmas but in March!

SNOW! Everywhere. In fact, there is nowhere where the snow is not there, if you catch my snowdrift. Anyway, the whole village is covered in the stuff, even the A525 is covered, and that is the main road. The good news is that this may affect my ability to go to college tomorrow. It has given even more throughout tomorrow, so they may cancel it incase students can’t get home again. Yes it is that deep, and living up a hill makes it worse.

EDIT: Screw that. a Gritter just made its way up the main road.
Also, today is St Davids Day, the Patron Saint of Wales, although I did nothing celebratory at all!

Hmm. Get a permanent job?

I am soo thinking about it. My college year is ending in 3 months time, and then I am alone. But where to work? There is only one place around here where I can easily get a job and that is the Airbus Wing making factory, which, makes the wings for all airbus planes. They are always looking for workers due to their high labour turnover rates, caused by uncertain students who work there. Perhaps, I should see what Business Studies grade I get, and if it is good, I could go in for a managerial level, or if not, I could become a dude who puts the wings together!

In other news, my new HDD comes tomorrow, thanks to help and advice from SpComb and orudge. It is 250GB, and should do me for a month or two. According to the tracker, it is currently waiting in a warehouse in Manchester. Not too far away then, they will probably ship it out from there for a tomorrow delivery.Completely unrelated from my life (until I can be bothered to go and volunteer, at least), the Welsh Highland Railway is progressing well in its rebuilding of its line from Caernarfon to Porthmadog to link up with the world famous Ffestiniog Railway, to create a 40 mile heritage railway, the longest in Britain too!
